Spillia Restaurant

It is one of our top choices restaurant to dine in, when visiting Mykonos. Spillia is situated, in a beautiful secluded bay, with access through boat and car. During the day, the restaurant offers a more vibrant atmosphere, with music and dancing. Giving a taste of life on a Mamma Mia set.  Just opposite the restaurant, there is a beautiful beach and a beach club to relax after lunch.

The restaurant offers a range of Mediterranean cuisine, with our must-tries: fresh octopus and lobster pasta to share.

At night Spillia turns into one of the most romantic dinner settings, with the view of the bay. We recommend trying the restaurant in the daytime and nighttime, as both are unforgettable experiences.

Berkeley tip: We recommend ordering the sea urchins, as they are freshly picked from a small pool located in between the tables.

Cozinha da Clara

When going away on holidays, one of the greatest ways of experiencing the countries culture first-hand, is visiting local restaurants. The philosophy, which Cozinha de Clara stands for, is serving local Portuguese food. The key ingredient in the restaurant’s cuisine is simplicity. The restaurant is a family business and all of the products are sourced from local farmers. The restaurant is known for not only excellent food but also for having one of the best views of the Duoro River.

Berkeley tip: We recommend booking a table, on the terrace to enjoy the view of Duoro River, while tasting some of the area’s finest wines.

Fialho Restaurant

Alentejo, is known as Portugal’s gastronomic soul. The town offers its own specialities, such as peppery olive oils and egg-yolk based desserts. The region is known, to produce half of Portugal’s wines. Amongst a variety of options to choose from on where to dine our top suggestion would be Fialho Restaurant. Manueal Fialho opened his restaurant back in 1948 and it has been a family business up until today. Offering local specialities, and an impressive wine selection from the restaurant’s private cellar. The restaurant has receieved a number of different culinary awards over the years. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming as the core values Fialho stands for is family.

Berkeley tip: We recommend ordering the favada real de caca , which is a bean stew that used to be served to royal guests after hunting trips.

Flisvos seaside restaurant – Corfu

Flisvos, is a local restaurant which is known for its Meditteranean cuisine and speciality in seafood. Situated, across the famous church Vlaxerena and the Mouse Island with a breath-taking view.  The best way to experience traditional Greek food is by visiting local restaurants, such as this one. Where you will be able to discover the Greek culture and explore the town of Corfu.

Berkeley tip: We suggest booking your dinner, for the time as the sun goes down, and a must-try is the Flisvos calamari, which is the best on the island.

Oromedon

Oromedon is another local tavern located on Kos island, which is our top suggestion during your Greek getaway. The restaurant is known for its breath-taking views, as from one side it overlooks the sunset, and the other side looks up to the verdant slopes of the mountain Dikaiois. The tavern specialises in local cuisine and offers a variety of carefully selected ingredients. One of Oromedon’s top dishes to try is the tender roasted lamb marinated with local herbs and spices, as well as hortopies , which is a traditional Greek pie, cooked overnight in a wood oven following a traditional mud sealing technique.

Berkeley tip:

In order to complete the culinary journey of local dishes, we recommend ordering katimeria for dessert, which is a cheesepie, with honey. The island’s signature dessert.

A family safari is one of the few holidays that genuinely changes how children see the world. It is also one of the easiest to get wrong. Planning a Medical Retreat – 10 Things You Should Do Beforehand

A medical retreat is not a holiday with a spa attached. Demand has never been higher: wellness tourism grew 13.8% last year according to the Global Wellness Institute, and the medical end of it, the doctor-led clinic stay, is growing fastest of all.
