Planning Your Retreat at Six Senses Vana: Frequently Asked Questions
From programme choice to how long to stay, a few questions arise on almost every Vana enquiry. Our Travel Designers have answered the most common ones below — and will match the right programme, season and length of stay to what you need.
Vana is a true wellness retreat rather than a hotel with a spa: every stay includes a wellness consultation and screening, a daily treatment, and personalised Ayurvedic cuisine served full board. Guests choose between three signature paths — Ayurvedic Panchakarma, Yoga & Meditation, and Sowa Rigpa, the Tibetan medical tradition rarely found outside the Himalayas — each shaped around your assessment on arrival.
Five to seven nights is enough for a genuine reset — Vana’s digital-detox ethos and forest setting do their work quickly. A true Ayurvedic Panchakarma requires fourteen nights as a minimum, while twenty-one-night stays address deeper, chronic patterns. Around two-thirds of guests come solo, so travelling alone here is the norm, not the exception; your Travel Designer will advise on the right length for your programme.
October to March brings the Himalayan foothills’ finest weather — clear, cool and green. Ayurvedic tradition, though, prizes the monsoon (late June to early September) for treatment itself, when the cool, moist air makes the body most receptive to Panchakarma — so a summer stay can be both quieter and more therapeutically effective. Vana’s forest estate is beautiful in every season.
Programmes start from around £1,800 per person for a three-night stay in low season, rising with season, occupancy and programme depth — with full board, transfers, daily treatments and consultations included, so the fare is closer to all-inclusive than a nightly room rate. As a Virtuoso agency, Berkeley Travel adds preferential amenities where available, and our Travel Designers will confirm exact rates for your dates.
